Usage and precautions of polypropylene mesh fiber
Usage method:
Directly added without changing the concrete mix proportion, it can be added to the mixer before, after, or simultaneously with other mixtures. The forced mixing time is slightly extended by 2-3 minutes compared to the conventional mixing time to ensure uniform fiber distribution.
Usage and precautions
1. For anti cracking and anti-seepage fields such as mortar putty, it is appropriate to use single fiber with a smaller equivalent diameter. The reasonable fiber length should be determined according to the particle size of the aggregate. A larger aspect ratio is conducive to the reinforcement and toughening effect of the fibers, while a smaller aspect ratio is conducive to the dispersion of the fibers. The fiber length for putty is generally 3 mm, and for mortar it is 5-10 mm. When the particle size of mortar sand is 5 mm, 12-25 mm fibers can be used. When the particle size of concrete stones reaches 20 mm, 19-55 mm mesh fibers can be used.
2. When using, fibers should be added to the mixer along with the aggregate, but it is necessary to prevent fibers from gathering between the mixing blades and baffles and causing blockage. Usually, the mixing time is slightly extended, and the addition of coarse aggregate is beneficial for the dispersion of fibers. The impact of aggregate causes the elastic mesh fibers to tear and open into randomly distributed single fibers. However, excessive mixing time can affect the fiber strength.
3. The addition of fibers will reduce the slump and expansion of concrete. If the slump cannot meet the construction requirements, plasticizers or water reducers should be used appropriately to improve the slump to meet the construction requirements.
4. Construction and maintenance are similar to ordinary concrete, with no special requirements.
5. It cannot be used as a structural reinforcement material and cannot replace structural reinforcement materials used alone to solve settlement and crack resistance under strong external impact.
Suggested dosage
Concrete - usual dosage: 0.9Kg/m3; Bridge waterproof protective layer - recommended dosage: 1.50 Kg/m3.
